This is the main theme from the movie October Sky arranged for a solo guitar.
Though the original version is an epic orchestra arrangement, you can enjoy the subtle beauty of the melodies on a solo guitar.
October Sky
Here is a little about the movie just in case you are not familiar.
It is based on a book written by a former NASA engineer Homer Hickam Jr. which was originally titled Rocket Boys. The book came to a best seller and the movie was released in 1998 as October Sky. The book followed the movie then and now it has the same title, long entertaining new and loyal fans.
A boy who was born in a coal mining town in West Virginia, post WWII. Once he acknowledges his passion for rocket science, he studies day and night, experimenting in a yard with his friends. despite his father's disapproval, he realizes his dream.
It is heartwarming, uplifting, and inspirational.
The movie would have been a wholly different experience without the music, beautifully woven by Mark Isham. Especially, the main theme would stick with you long after finishing the movie. That is the reason I wanted to arrange it for a solo guitar.
Arrangement
The changes are pretty simple, but it could be hard to keep the melodies ringing on each measure.
